Darkness to Light: A Memoir By: Lamar Odom

I am not a big basketball fan. I knew of Lamar Odom because of the Kardashians and even that was limited since I hardly watched it. For some reason I was interested in reading it though.

I was shocked how nonchalant he spoke about making it to the NBA. I am sure there was a lot of practiced and struggled, something i did not get out of the book.

The loss of his son was enough to send anyone into a tailspin, however his issues were present before, during and after. It was very sad to read about his downward spiral. To have it all and throw it away over substance is heartbreaking.  Hopefully his near-death experience, the love of his kids and the loss of the love of his life, as he stated, will keep him straight.

Odom's story is compelling and engaging. It's not a long book but I found myself not putting it down
